Nigeria Beloved Nation

River is a home to fishes
Forest is a home to lions
The fatherland, Nigeria, is our land
The land, crisscrossed
By the water of Niger and Benue
Is our very beloved home
The land of rainbow raiments
Our tongues in tandem tock
Like two hands of a clock
Uphill the land is laced with shiny sand
Downhill the land is crested by sea
Fatherland is on a comely canvas
Of fair forest and grass.

Home, sweet or sour, is home
Home, cosy or cold, is home
Nigeria, our dear country, is our home
No other place, none,
Even a palace is like one’s home
And to say the truth
Our land is blessed
Our land is not jinxed
Our crocks are full of honey
Our vaults are full of money

Our land flows even with milk.

And for the trailing travails
We shall surely prevail
Soon, the dark clouds will clear
The whirlwind will wane
The twirls, twists and turns
The hassle, tussle and hustle
Will not for long be the battle.

Empires rise, empires sink
For this great black land
His ship will not sink
Though many, many do think
That the land is on a fall’s brink
After the darkness, the sun shall shine
The Giant of Africa will rise
The Eagle will reach his height of honour
Nigeria, beloved ,will be great.
