Pain and pleasure
Mixed together,
Taught me
The malleability of life
Questions of fate
And the selfishness
Of men
Reveals the value
Of gold
In legends told
A great fire
Within me.
Half in love
With gold,
Half with life.
So is my passion
Spent.
Gold contributes to
My healing,
Life gives me
Time to heal,
Been healing all
Of my life,
Overcame the illusion
Of speed,
To keep my
Path in view.
With no grief
I grasp thorns
In my desire
For roses,
And that’s okay.
Broke my mind
Out it’s iron
Cage.
This dream takes
Courage –
To turn dirt
In the world,
To brilliant golds.
