CreativeNaija team (CN): Hello, it is really awesome to meet you. We have seen many of your crochets and have had our minds blown.

Can you kindly tell us a bit more about yourself?

My name is Olaolu and i am the creative director and Brand Ambassador of Phecreatifs. A Crotchet Knitwear Clothing company I started with my sister in December 2021. I have a BSC in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing from The American university of Nigeria. Yola. (AUN). I dont have any formal training in Fashion and have no degree in Fashion. However, I have always known how to use social media to my advantage. Having a following on twitter of over 5,000 followers and also my educational background in Business and Marketing really helped with kick starting my Brand.

CN: Tell us a bit about your crochet journey. How did you get into it and what inspires your designs?

My Sister actually started Crotcheting for Fun and she would just gift her friends stuff that she made. I saw potential in her talent. Following world fashion trends for years, I knew it was going to be huge in 2022/2023. So I encouraged her to make popular trending styles in Crotchet and i will be responsible for marketing and getting customers. That is a small backstory to how Phecreatifs started. Phecreatifs is a clothing Brand that sells a lifestyle of being true to yourself and having Fun. Its a very colorful, Vibrant and Festive Brand. We want our customers to be Unique, Bold and have a great time wearing our pieces. The Inspiration comes from experimenting with colors and Trying something new. We always try to stand out.

CN: We have seen some famous people like Rema putting on one of your hats. Care to spill the beans? What other famous people have worn your stuff?

Yes, Rema wore our Peach and Orange Ski Mask. It was given to him by a friend who is an Artist called Dricky. We made the ski mask for him and he was working with Rema at the time and Rema saw it on him and loved it. He gifted it to Rema and the rest is history. We are currently working with Fruche who is one of the Biggest designers in Nigeria right now.

CN: How long on average does it take you from design to finished item?

It really depends on what we are making and the design it requires. Crotchet Fashion like Bucket hats, Beanies, Head Pieces and Ski Masks take like 3-4days. Bigger clothing like Meshtops and Dresses take like 3-4 weeks.

CN: What are your future goals with the brand?

I want it to be the Biggest Crotchet Brand in Africa. I also want the Phecreatifs Brand to be worn by the Biggest Celebrities, Artistes, entertainers in Africa and around the world. And to collaborate with the Biggest Fashion Brands in the world like Louis Vuitton and Gucci.

I want to see Phecreatifs on the Biggest Fashion shows in Africa, Europe and the rest of the world.

CN: Have you got a team that works with you or you do everything yourself?

We do everything ourselves as we are just starting out. My sister makes the Clothing and i showcase it through Social Media and sell to the world. I would like to have a team soon as we get more orders we will definitely need a team in the near future. We are working on that
